20 January 2014 , Carmenta CoordCom
Lake Victoria is the largest lake in Africa, with a surface area greater than Switzerland. Millions of people depend on its resources, but it has a darker side. Each year, thousands of people drown in its waters. But why is drowning so common there, and what can be done to improve things? Watch the BBC report from when Catherine Byaruhanga visited one of the organisations trying to save lives on the lake and see how they plan to use Carmenta CoordCom. Link to BBC. The Carmenta CoordCom system is to be launched during the first half of 2014.
