Björn Berndtsson has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Carmenta AB with effect from 6 March 2012. Björn has long experience from CEO positions in international high-tech companies.
Gunnar Storm, founder, board member and former CEO of Carmenta AB, remains with the company and assumes the position of Vice President Business Development.

Carmenta partner in strategic Air Traffic Management programme

Carmenta is pleased to announce that as part of the MOSIA consortium, they have been accepted as an Associate Partner of the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) programme. The consortium will play an important role in providing the technology architecture for the Single European Sky (SES) Initiative, a next-generation air traffic control infrastructure in Europe enabling the safe and environmentally friendly development of air transport.

The Swedish Armed Forces and Carmenta sign strategic agreement

The Swedish Armed Forces have, via FMV (the Swedish Defense Material Administration), signed a strategic enterprise agreement giving the Armed Forces access to Carmenta’s products and services for Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
The three-year agreement gives the Swedish Armed Forces, FMV and their contractors extensive access to Carmenta’s geospatial technology in projects carried out for FMV and the Armed Forces.

Carmenta nominated for the Mobile Innovation of the Year Award

Carmenta has been nominated for the Innovation of the Year Award at the Mobilgalan – the Swedish Annual Telecoms Award – for its mobile phone map engine Carmenta Mobile.
The awards ceremony will be held at Kista, Stockholm, Sweden on the 6th November 2008.
