Business Development Manager DACH – Defence & Security

Our products and solutions are essential components in applications like state-of-the-art onboard mission systems for aircraft and combat vehicles, as well as in nationwide command & control systems for military, traffic and emergency response units. Geospatial technology is widely used in defence and security applications for the management, analysis and visualisation of geographic information (background maps, real-time sensor & video information and symbols), in order to provide operators and field units with superior situational awareness. Carmenta has been providing world-class geospatial software products and solutions, as well as expert consultancy and training services, for more than 30 years. Due to our steady international expansion, we are now looking for an experienced sales-driven Business Development Manager in the DACH countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
Roles and responsibilities
We mainly work with key accounts, and this role involves further developing our long term business relationships with these clients in the DACH region, in addition to identifying and developing new accounts. Our clients are usually major multinational organisations in the defence and security industry, such as Airbus DS and MBDA. This position will require exceptional communication skills, as the work involves a very high level of product, service and solution sales with a diverse network of contacts and clients, as well as internal communication within the organisation. The position is based in Germany and you will be reporting directly to our DACH Country Manager in southern Germany as well as our Head of Sales in Sweden. You will be expected to travel, within the DACH region and internationally.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record and a solid background in sales within the defence and security sector. You must be sales-driven, results-oriented, be interested in technology and have a good understanding of how to sell software products and services. You probably have an engineering degree or similar and are fluent in German and English, written and verbal. Dedication, motivation and excellent communication skills are essential to succeed in this role. Establishing close relationships and building credibility with our client’s engineers and software management staff are key to Carmenta’s success.
